Ab Ladder | 30 Minute Core Workout
Who’s ready for another quick 30 minute workout!? Today let’s focus on our core by learning my favorite ab ladder.
First, a little background:
I had a fantastic Strength and Conditioning coach in high school. He taught me so much about health and fitness (and honestly life in general.)
He taught me a core routine, which he called an ab ladder, that has stuck with me for all of these years. (I graduated in 2009 so I’m feeling a little nostalgic.) It burned while doing it and made it hurt to laugh the following day. (Which is a surprisingly great feeling.)
One of the things I love about this ab ladder is that it can be tailored to any experience level. I also love that it’s fast! It would be the perfect core workout for just before bed or before you hop into the shower in the morning. (I try to do this workout 3 times per week!)
Let’s do it!
Advanced: Go down and back up the ladder 3 times (or more, never limit yourself! You can also add more time to your plank at the bottom of the ladder.)
Moderate: Go down and back up the ladder 1 1/2-2 times.
Beginner: Go down the ladder 1 time(and back up if you are feeling it!)
(Going to take a moment here to give my wonderful husband a shout out for being a trooper and modeling the exercises!)
Side Crunches x20 (each side)
Toe Touches x20
Hip Ups x15
Plank x15 seconds
Tips: Make sure to keep each movement slow and controlled. Focus on tightening the core as you move. If any of it hurts (not meaning muscle soreness…actual pain) than STOP. I can help you find other exercises that are a better fit for YOU!
