Lose Weight The Easy Way
Ok y’all I’m about to get on my soap box for a minute. We’re going to sit down and talk about something important…something everyone is dying to know. Something that honestly gets my blood boiling; how to lose weight the easy way.
I am always getting questioned over and over again;
“What’s your secret?! What did you take to lose weight!?”
I see it all the time…”take this pill twice a day and you’ll drop 5 dress sizes in a month! Did we mention that essentially all you’ll be taking is a huge dose of caffeine!? Hey it sure will get your metabolism going (and wreak havoc in your kidneys, liver and heart in the meantime…no biggie. Organ function isn’t that important after all)!”
“Drink this shake 3 times a day (and eat minimal solid foods) and you’ll lose 20 lbs in a month! But remember, you’ll have to keep doing this for the rest of your life in order to keep the weight off! You’ll be hungry all of the time but…oh well! As soon as you break down and indulge in your cravings (or go back to eating solid food consistently) you’ll most likely gain all of the weight back…plus a little more!”
“All you have to do is rub this gel all over your problem area and it will literally melt your fat away!!!!” Yes people, that was a real life informercial!! How does anyone even believe that a product like that would work!?
Ok so you understand..I really really REALLY hate the idea that there is some magic solution out there to lose weight instantly. Do you really want to know my secret!?
I CHANGED MY LIFE!
It is a process to lose weight and get in shape. It is hard. It is a true commitment and it certainly isn’t going to happen over night. It also really only takes two changes:
You are going to HAVE to figure out ways to eat well and exercise that are enjoyable for YOU! Try different workouts, different foods, and different seasonings. So you really like candy? Instead of eating a whole snickers bar, grab a piece of dark chocolate and some peanut butter! Does it taste exactly the same? No. Is it still satisfying? Yes. Will it most likely curb that sweet tooth? Yes.
It is unrealistic to think that any fad diet will work long term. Find things that you enjoy! Once you are tired of a food or activity, don’t just give up! Find something new and exciting to replace it!
Sure, there are going to be days where you fall off of the wagon. You are going to eat that piece of chocolate cake. You will probably find yourself wrist deep in a bag of Cheetos. You are going to eat that piece of pizza…whole pizza? Hey, it happens. But the key is to get back on track the next day! As long as the good outweighs the bad, you are going to be ok! You are going to make progress!
Get yourself moving! You don’t have to implement a vigorous cardio routine right away. No need to start stacking plates and repping weights. Go on a walk with your dog. Take the stairs instead of an elevator. Take 30 minutes a day for yourself to get a workout in.
There is no ‘right time’ to do it. Don’t keep telling yourself that you’ll wait until Monday. Monday will turn into the 1st of next month, which turns into the day after your birthday, the day after Christmas, then New Years. Believe me. I’ve been through this!
Commit to yourself NOW!
Change your lifestyle!
It won’t be easy and it won’t happen overnight but I promise it will be worth it!!!
