Sweet & Spicy Salmon | Getting Your Grill On
Back at it with another ‘Getting Your Grill On’ recipe! Tonight we are enjoying some sweet & spicy salmon, a grilled salmon filet coated with a sweet and spicy glaze that will have your taste buds saying ‘HELLOOO’!
The best part? It only takes 5 ingredients and will be on your table in less than 30 minutes! Bonus: I guarantee that you will enjoy this glaze on not only on salmon, but also chicken, pork, shrimp, or any other seafood of your liking.
Sound intriguing? Here we go:
What you’ll need:
- Salmon Filets
- Peanut Butter
- Brown Sugar
- A grill
Step 1: Start your grill and get your salmon out and ready for prep. You will want to have your grill set at about 550 degrees.
Step 2: Make your glaze! Start by adding 1/4 cup of your peanut butter of choice (I used a creamy organic PB). Next, add in about 1 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar (I used the Splenda brown sugar blend ). Finally, add in your Sriracha (this amount varies on how spicy you like your food. I am a heat wuss so I usually use about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon.) Blend all of this together to make a paste and then add water 1/2 teaspoon at a time until you get a smooth consistency and sugar is dissolved.
Step 3: Coat your salmon with the glaze and place on the grill. Don’t move the filet around after it is placed on the grill! You want to get a good sear on it so that the fish doesn’t stick to the grill! Cook the salmon filet on the first side for 5 minutes. Flip the filet and re-coat with glaze. Cook second side for another 5-6 minutes (or until fish flakes with a fork). Once your salmon is finished cooking, you can add one more coat of the glaze if you’d like.
Step 4: Let your filets rest for around 2 minutes and then ENJOY!
