Who is StrongMomBlog?
Hi! I’m Lenae Hamman!
I was born and raised in a small(ish) town in the middle of Kansas. I met my husband/best friend (cliché but true) when I was 17 years old and in the years following we’ve grown our family x3 dogs and a new baby boy, Kreed.
Growing up I loved sports and managed to lead a fairly healthy lifestyle (for a fast-food eating teenager, I suppose). After high school came college and my active lifestyle fell to the wayside. There were no longer practices to attend, going out to eat with friends took priority over going on a jog, and it turns out Oreos and mac and cheese are a lot cheaper than chicken breasts and broccoli. What people call the ‘freshman 15’ turned into the freshman 50 for me.
By the time I was 21 years old I had hit my highest weight and my doctor informed me that I had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. AT 21 YEARS OLD, PEOPLE! Shockingly enough that didn’t even spark the change in me. It wasn’t until I tried to get a life insurance policy (because adult) and my rates were high because of health risks that I decided enough was enough and promised myself that I would get in the best shape of my life. Two years, 98 lbs, and countless hours of research on proper eating and exercise later, I accomplished my goal and developed a deep passion for Health and Fitness (and saved a lot on life insurance).
Fast forward through a year of trying to make a baby (which isn’t as easy as high school sex-ed leads you to believe…more on that later) and a fit and healthy (tooting my own horn) 36 week 5 day pregnancy later-our son is here and I have found another passion; mommyhood. Between the playing, reading, eating, and (a lot of) pooping, I’ve realized that getting into the gym just isn’t as easy as it once was. Meals need to be faster but still healthy. I need to workout but most times have a baby in-tow. SO. I have challenged myself to find fun and exciting ways to live a strong, healthy, and fit lifestyle, all while being a mom!
My goal is to help other moms, or anyone for that matter, learn to lead a healthy lifestyle no matter how busy you are! Let me share my tips and tricks with you!
