As a mom I was suffering to find the best for my baby, I searched a lot to figure out what I should buy for her and what the best material for each product is.
Because I was struggling I decided to write this blog to save you time and effort, by helping you to choose the essential eco-friendly baby products for your little one based on my research and experience.
Organic Baby Clothes
The number one thing that any mom thinks of (especially the new moms) it when she is pregnant is, what clothes should i buy for my new born baby, and for sure the best option is organic cotton clothes, why?
Because organic cotton clothes are one of the best eco-friendly baby products.
They are grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or harmful chemicals. They are softer, more breathable, and gentler on a baby’s delicate skin.
Here are the types of clothes that should be in your baby’s wardrobe:
- Hospital set
- 3 Pajamas
- Swaddles
- Pants
- Organic cotton sleeveless bodysuit
- Organic cotton short sleeve bodysuit
- Organic cotton long sleeve bodysuit ( only if you will give a birth in winter or autumn)
- Outdoor clothes
- Hats
- Hooded jacket
- Bibs
I have created an e-book includes all the must-have eco-friendly baby products for new moms, with focusing only on essentials you can get it for free and check it on the go when you click here.
Eco Friendly Diapers
There are lots of diapers, but choosing the right one for your baby is the most important thing.
That is why the organic diapers are the best. They are gentle on your baby’s skin and will reduce the harsh that can occur from non organic diapers.
As a mom I researched 3 types of the organic diapers. I will discuss them with you, so you can choose the best for your baby and your pocket:
Cloth Diapers
This is one of the best eco-friendly baby products for many reasons.
It’s free from chemicals, dyes, fragrances, it’s reusable, you can wash it and use it again so it’s good for your wallet and for your planet too.
Biodegradable Diapers:
This option is good for parents who want convenience without the environmental impact.
It’s disposal, and at the same time it’s made of natural, planet-based materials.
Hybrid Diapers
Hybrid diapers combine the best of cloth and disposable diapers. They have a reusable cloth outer cover but feature a disposable insert that is eco-friendly and compostable.
For me I don’t prefer this option, but many moms are do. You can try many types and choose the best for your baby and your convenience.

Gentle, Eco-Friendly Baby Skincare
If you are a new mom, you may not know what is important for your baby and what is not, so will try to buy everything for your baby even if you won’t need it.
Before choosing any product for your baby, you have to know that babies have very sensitive skin, and that’s why the organic products are the safest option for them.
As they’re free from harmful chemicals, fragrances, and preservatives.
But what are the most essential eco-friendly baby products for your baby’s skincare ?
Based on my experience, these are the most important products:
- Non toxic baby shampoos: Buy standard shampoo and anti-dandruff shampoo (newborns often have dandruff on their heads at the beginning)
- Baby lotion: It’s very important especially in winter, to keep your baby’s skin moisturized
- Diaper rash cream: Make sure that the cream contains any of these ingredients to protect your baby’s skin (Olive oil, Coconut oil, Shea butter, Calendula, Zinc Oxide).
- Baby Oil or Massage Oil: you can use it for relaxing messages for your baby.
Some people say that baby powder is a good option, but for me, I don’t prefer it at all.
I believe that the above skincare products are you will need for your baby’s day-to-day care.
Eco-Friendly Baby Bottles
If you are bottle-feeding, it’s important to choose bottles that are free from harmful chemicals like BPA, PVC, and phthalates.
The good news? There are plenty of eco-friendly baby product options that are both safe for your baby and the planet, such as:
- Stainless Steel Bottles
- Glass Bottles
- Silicone Bottles
- BPA-Free Plastic Bottles
For breastfeeding moms, however, selecting the right bottle is even more important to avoid nipple confusion.
To help your baby switch comfortably between breast and bottle, look for an anti-colic bottle that reduces the amount of air your baby swallows, which can minimize colic and fussiness.

Eco-Friendly Baby Gear
Do you know that nowadays, many companies manufacturer eco-friendly baby products? and the gear is not an exception.
Here are the essential eco-friendly baby gears that you need to buy for your baby:
Eco-Friendly Baby Strollers:
This is so important for you before your baby. It will help you to go out without suffering from carrying your baby on your shoulder all the time.
But there are a lot of considerations you have to keep in mind before selecting the right stroller, such as having:
- Sustainable materials and recyclable fabrics
- Adjustable Seats
- Convertible Designs: to recline for newborns and convert to a more upright position for older babies (so you can use it as your newborn grow up)
Eco-Friendly Baby Car Seats:
It is very important to have a baby car seat for your baby’s safety during travel, just look for one that has non toxic materials and is easy to clean.
Also, consider longevity and adjustability. The more adaptable and long-lasting the car seat, the better, as you won’t need to replace it as your baby grows.
Eco-Friendly Baby Cribs
Good sleep starts with a convenient crib. To have a good bed for your little one, just make sure that the fabrics are organic, and the wood is and the wood is sustainably sourced.
For features, choosing a convertible one is a good option for long-lasting use, as it can convert into toddler beds or even full-sized beds.
One Last Tip
I know that you are so happy to have your baby, especially if you are a new mom. That’s why you are looking to buy the best eco-friendly baby products for your little one.
But don’t let the excitement push you to buy too many clothes and things for your newborn baby.
They grow up too fast and you will need to buy bigger clothes and tools soon.
In some cases, babies grow so quickly even in the newborn stage, and although they haven’t reached 3 months old,
You may need to buy clothes in (4-6M) size. So just buy the minimum and wait to see your baby’s actual weight and needs before purchasing more.
